Missionary Work Report of Luzon Mission Field
Year 2003-2007
Medical-Evangelistic Outreach Activities

We wish to informed the dear believers in all the world the progress the work of Reformation is making in Luzon Mission Field .Certainly the Lord has done great things in this tropical island. Even though there are serious political and economic problems facing this place, the work of God has been going forward in a remarkable manner. Luzon is one of the biggest island of the Philippines. It has a total area of 105,000 sq. meters. It is known as the rice granary of the country because of his great plain.

More than 84% of the people are Roman Catholic, the rest are Protestant, Muslims and pagans. Luzon Mission Field was divided into three parts Southern, Central and Northern Luzon which composed of 21 organized local reformed churches working together in conducting camp meeting conferences and medical-evangelistic campaign in various part of this wide spread field. Presently there are 4 minister, 24 canvasser, 2 bible workers,1 office worker who doing well in Luzon Mission field and a total of 375 members who are faithful and happy in the Lord's work. For the past four years, a series of vital missionary outreach project were held constantly in school, town halls ,offices and private homes. The vigor of the youth was combined with the wisdom and experiences of the elders and ministers namely Pastor Peter Maniago, Eduardo Timonera, Francis Ortega, Nestor Maniago and Bro. Roland dela Paz.was striving to spread the gospel in different provinces of Luzon. During this times, variety of activities and programs were carried on which proved a blessings to the believers and to others.

This team efforts effectively reach out 20 areas never ventured before like Pampanga cities ,Ilocos Norte, Ifugao Province, Baguio City, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Rizal,Bataan, Camarines Sur ,Negros Oriental, Agusan del Sur, Dumaguete and even Mindanao regions particularly Davao. In each public lectures there were 70 to 100 interested souls and regular visitors coming. Prayer was the main ingredient in our preparation which followed by careful planning . First hundreds of fliers were created and printed listing timely and relevant topics that motivated people to come to the meetings. Several weeks are used by church members both old , young and children to go on various neighborhood to conduct survey of interested souls and distributing attractive invitation cards. Advertising of all types was used ,large fosters were made and placed on poles and walls throughout the downtown section of the city. Media were also utilized with radio announcement as well as door to door tracts. All brethren worked enthusiastically,cooperating with the suggested plans for each event. All our friends and relatives were also invited to attend. Here similar format on every program was taken, in the morning a mini-seminar held which includes giving the introduction rendered by young people, a song service, prayer and a special music rendered by individual,group or choir. All joined in learning gospel songs. Following was the inspiring and informative health lectures conducted by Bro. Roland dela Paz, a medical doctor by profession and bible worker.

While literature evangelist,naturalist and reflexologists, Elder Francis Ortega,Bro. Bernard Gonzales and other health workers assisted in this work. Both old and young were fascinated to learned through presentation the simple method of preventing diseases such as asthma, arthritis, kidney problems,diabetes ,cancer and strokes and how to maintain good health. They are also taking time for illness diagnosis through reflexology and suggest ways for healthful living. Furthermore other services offered includes dental and blood pressure checkup. A natural remedy workshop was conducted with demonstration and commentary stressing the importance of good blood circulation. Various simple uses of fruits ,vegetables and herbs like horsetail which have found helpful in curing and restoration were always discussed in every evangelistic meeting. Hot and cold compress. mud poultice and enemas was also practically demonstrated. Through this lectures of simple natural method of treating diseases, doors of opportunity could opened to reveal Christ more fully. It was customary occurrences that the next two hours be devoted to bible studies. The speakers on doctrinal issues .bible prophecies and present truth was divided among these leading brethren Elder Nestor Maniago, Elder Francis Ortega and Bro. Roland dela Paz. Their discourses encapsulated the truth for our days and presenting the message with clarity and power and large number of visitors seemed impressed Follow-up activities includes presenting cooking classes.

Taking advantages of the time ,talents and energy of young and older folks led by Sis. Cleotilde Austria, Sis. Grace dela Paz , Sis Liza Pajares and Sis.Rachel Umali they joined hands and heart to present vegetarian cooking demonstration to the good people in and around the places. They explained the roles of free radicals . the marvelous design of the digestive system and help our guest feel more comfortable about going into their kitchen and preparing more healthful foods. Several meatless main dishes and recipes were demonstrated and offered. Samples were served to each visitors immediately.At the end of the each meeting when the call was made for those who made a decision for the Lord and to be united with His people,a total of 5 to10 names and addresses of interested souls set up for bible studies during Sabbath afternoon or regular week days led by Bro. Roland dela Paz and other lay members. Some of them requested to be visited and are now regularly attending church services . Altogether the Timog church for the year 2006 distributed over 20 magazines,934 pcs. of leaflets and pamphlets and sold 82 books .
