"The heavens declare
the glory ofGod; and
thefirmament sheweth
his handywork. Day unto
day uttereth speech, and
night unto night sheweth
knowledge. There is no
speech nor language, where
their voice is not heard. Their
line is gone out through all
the earth, and their words
to the end ofthe world. In
them hath he set a tabernacle
for the sun, Which is as a
bridegroom coming out ofhis
chamber, andrejoiceth as a
strong man to run a race. His
goingforth isfrom the end
ofthe heaven, and his circuit
unto the ends ofit: and there
is nothing hidfrom the heat
thereof." Psalms 19:1-6.

David described in this psalm the beauty of God's perfect work and order by which all the universe is controlled. He stated that a day communicates with another day and a night with another one. The sun rotates around the earth as human eyes can see it. The sun in its circling is never early or late. The earth rotates itself for exactly 24 hours making a full day. Man defined the units of time from the rotation of earth, which is a second. And it is very well known that earth revolves around the sun in exact 365 days, 6 hours, 9 minutes and 9.54 seconds. David stated in his psalm that the firmament shows the handy work of God. We know in advance at what time would be the sunset and sunri se of every day of year and we keep that information at hand to prepare ourselves for the beginning of the Sabbath. And we know that the sun will not wait for us to open and close the Sabbath but it will set according to the natural law created by God.
If we compare our work with the work of nature in regard to punctuality, we come to a conclusion that man has lost integrity in a great degree in this relation. Nature never goes ahead or behind of time. We can see that some people try to be perfect in keeping time in many social fields but they cannot do that as well as the nature.
|
We know that a year consists of so many days and nights which follow one another till the earth comes again to revolve for another year. We are approaching the end of this 2005th year. We know how many days we have every year but do we know how many good works we performed on each day of lastyear, how many duties we did not perform during that year and how much time we were late in our obligation which we accepted in the church? We understand from the Bible that whether we do good or evil, all has been recorded by the heavenly watchers. We are responsible of how we use our time and talents. It is true that in this year which is coming to an end now we have reached to several new countries with the gospel and we were able to organize churches in those lands which can be considered as a good success. But we should plan to progress more in the future. We should learn diligently to do our duty well and on time. In many cases some people delay or neglect to perform their obligation and try to do their work at the last moment but they cannot do it in the right way. Apostle Paul states in 1 Corinthians 12 how human body is organized and each part respect the function of other parts. Then he explained that it should be also in the organization of our church. All local churches has
|
to be well organized and active in missionary duty, then churches to be organized in field conferences, union conferences and, finally, General Conference. If a human bodyishealthy, thebloodcirculation supplies sufficient energy to each part no matter how far the part is from the heart. Likewise each part of our church should be supplied with spiritual food on time with sufficient energy so that each part of the church should be healthy and work harmoniously. They should revolve in harmony with each other as the planets revolve around the sun. And this should be not only in proper time but also in the good relation.
Then David described in Psalm 19 that no portion of this earth had ever been hid from the warmth of the sun. Even North Pole and South Pole which are the coldest parts of this planet are not hid from the rays of the sun. Therefore no part of this planet earth should be neglected to be supplied with the warm rays of the Sun of Righteousness, which represents the work of our time as written in Revelation 18:1. And its rays should give healthy spiritual life to everyone who accepts it. And it is the duty of every officer and lay member of our organization to work harmoniously on time and in the order provided by God.
|
Our great duty is to spread the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth as Christ instructed His disciples and we should earnestly study all our duties to be performed around the world on time in the best order as far as we can understand it. Yet our goal should be as apostle Paul states in the following verses.

"For the perfecting ofthe
saints, for the work ofthe
ministry, for the edifying
ofthe body of Christ: Till
we all come in the unity
ofthefaith, and ofthe
knowledge ofthe Son of
God, unto a perfect man,
unto the measure ofthe
stature ofthefulness of
Christ."
Ephesians 4:12-13.

To do this work we should make certain sacrifices in our lives and also reformation in our work. The same apostle advises us in Romans 12:1,2.
|
"Ibeseechyou therefore,
brethren, by the mercies
ofGod, that ye present
your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable
unto God, which isyour
reasonable service.
And be not conformed
to this world: but be
ye transformed by the
renewing ofyour mind,
that ye mayprove
what is that good, and
acceptable, andperfect,
will ofGod."
Romans 12:1-2.
|
Having in mind our obligation to finish preaching the gospel and the territory of our work, we should earnestly pray God for wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit that we can be prepared to do our duty in the next year in much better order and more successfully.
At the end of this message, I wish to all our members and workers a prosperous and happy new year
Your Brother In Christ. B. Cholich
