Choose the
School Where
God Is the
Foundation

"In planning for the education of their children outside the home, parents should realize that it is no longer safe to send them to the public school, and should endeavor to send them to school s where they will obtain an education based on a Scriptural foundation. Upon every Christian parent there rests the solemn obligation of giving to his children an education that will lead them to gain a knowledge of the Lord and to become partakers of the divine nature through obedience to God's will and way." -Child Guidance, p. 304.

Work as for Life to Save Children
"In some countries parents are compelled by law to send their children to school. In these countries, in localities where there is a church, schools should be established, if there are no more than six children to attend. Work as if you were working for your life to save the children from being drowned in the polluting, corrupting infl uences of the world.
"We are far behind our duty in this important matter. In many places schools should have been in operation years ago. Many localities would thus have had representatives of the truth who would have given character to the work of the Lord. Instead of centering so many large buildings in a few places, schools should have been established in many localities..

"Let these schools now be started under wise direction, that the children and youth may be educated in their own churches. It is a grievous offense to God that there has been so great neglect in this line, when Providence has so abundantly supplied us with facilities with which to work." -Child Guidance, pp. 308, 309.

The Heavenly Pattern

"We are rapidly nearing the final crisis in this world's history, and it is important that we understand that the educational advantages offered by our schools are to be different from those offered by the schools of the world. Neither are we to follow the routine of worldly schools. The instruction given in Seventh-day Adventist schools is to be such as to lead to the practice of true humility. In speech, in dress, in diet, and in the influence exerted, is to be seen the simplicity of true godliness. -Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students, 56.

REPORT OF THE WORKINBELIZE (II)

We had to get up at 5.30 a.m. and although our body offered some resistance, we followed the voice of duty. Since we had an appointment at 7 a.m., we had to rush to be on time, and upon arrival we met the happy faces of both parents and children for the inauguration of a new school with a better teaching system, good principles and the fear of God. We sat on the first seats that were for the board of directors of the mission and soon the school program started. The master of ceremonies welcomed the parents, children and authorities of the local mission and union. Bother Oscar Archila, the president of the Union gave a short speech for the inauguration of the school pointing out the spiritual and moral principles that would be lifted up in this Reform school and that have been lost in secular schools, values that the society needs to have taught to its members. He read a paragraph from the Holy Scriptures and the Spirit of Prophecy about the real education the world needs today. Afterward, we

prayed for the school, the teachers, the children and the parents who entrusted us their children to be educated in the fear of God. A blessing   was   pronounced   over the premises  and the  symbolic ribbon was cut so that the pupils could enter into their respective classrooms. Afterwards, we visited the different parts of the school to see the condition of the classrooms and we saw that everything was in order. From the bottom of our heart, we thanked our God for the blessing granted. Thus is how this joyful feast of inauguration of the building came to an end. Lastly, we spent two days holding meetings of the spiritual committee of the field and union together with the financial committee to evaluate the financial condition of the work in   those   countries   of   Central America.      Several   agreements were   made   in   these   meetings regarding the progress of the work in those countries, especially in Belize, as well as the opening of other working fields in the above-mentioned countries. But, we have to face some limitations due to the economical condition in these countries of the Third World. We need financial support to carry on   evangelical   projects  in  this area.

We need your prayers as well as your financial support to make the work in Central America go forward. We al so need an English speaking couple for all the region of Belize and the islands of this country. We expect your support and prayer.
May the Lord bless you richly, your co-worker in the Central American Union,
Br. Oscar Archila Unión president

Help for Mission Fields

"There is a burden upon my soul in regard to the destitute mission fields. There is aggressive work to be done in the missions near us; and there is great need of funds for advancing the work in foreign fields. Our foreign missions are languishing. The missionaries are not sustained as God requires. For want of funds, workers are not able to enter new fields.
"All aroundus are souls perishing in their sins. Every year thousands upon thousands are dying without God and without hope of everlasting life. The plagues and judgments of God are doing their

work, and souls are going to ruin because the light of truth has not been fl ashed upon their pathway. But how few are burdened over the condition of their fellow men. The world is perishing in its misery; but this hardly moves even those who claim to believe the highest and most far-reaching truth ever given to mortal s. God requires His people to be His helping hand to reach the perishing, but how many are content to do nothing. There is a lack of that love which led Christ to leave His heavenly home and take man's nature, that humanity might touch humanity and draw humanity to divinity. There is a stupor, a paralysis, upon the people of God which prevents them from understanding what is needed for this time." -Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 6, pp. 445, 446. "A good work has already been done in these countries. There are those who have received the truth, scattered as light bearers in almost every land. . . . But how little has been done in comparison with the great work before us! Angels of God are moving upon the minds of the people, and preparing them to receive the warning. Missionaries are needed in fi elds that have yet been scarcely entered. New fi elds are constantly opening.

The truth must be translated into different languages, that all nations may enjoy its pure, life-giving infl uences." -Evangelism, 408, 409.
